No DMotR Today

I usually have comics done a couple of weeks ahead of time, but when I get an idea for a strip to be inserted within the current week, I have to choose between letting the idea slide, or postponing a strip and making the comic during the week. As we approach the end, I’m increasingly reluctant to skip material, so I’m going to push the comic to Friday.

Perhaps the following silly image will appease you:

  2. Myxx says:

Heh, yeah. That’s a good capture.

  3. dpmcalister says:

:( I was looking forward to it today. Ah well, there’s always Friday :D

  4. I dunno, I think that may still be one of the best lines yet :D

And look at it this way, he could have left us waiting for the comic all day, with out telling us it would not be out today.

    :D

  5. Jeremiah says:

    It’s got HUGE pointy fangs!

  6. Henebry says:

    Totally the right decision.

  7. Dilvish says:

Hey! I thought no Monty Python quotes were allowed!! Your breaking your own house rules. I hate this game. Let’s go play Star Wars.

  8. Doug Brown says:

    Color me appeased.

  9. Donna says:

    But Shamusssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!

Okay, I guess I’ll live until Friday, but it’s a close call!

  10. The Gneech says:

    Wot, behind the balrog?

    -The Gneech

  11. Stark says:

    Now where’d I put that Holy Hand-Grenade?

  12. Lynx says:

    Hmm. Rabbigorn.

    :D

  13. corwin says:

I am confident it will be worth the wait. It always is :)

  14. Cat Skyfire says:

…Can you add bunny ears to him? With that teeth image, he looks like he’s going to attack a carrot.

  15. Jim in Buffalo says:

    What, behind the rabbit?

    It IS the rabbit!

Looking forward to the next one, love the very thought of it.

  16. Browncoat says:

Between this one and Hama’s “Right. I can’t let you in while we, or anyone else, is armed.”, I think you could make a living just with the silly images.

I would kindly request, perhaps even beg, that you provide these silly images in sizes that would make good wallpapers. I have nothing to offer in return.

  17. Nazgul says:

    I LOL’d, so I am definitely appeased.

  18. Aaron says:

I’ll definatly accept that screen cap as an offering until the full one comes out. The wait will make the comic that much better anyway ;) Thanks for the heads up Shamus :)

  19. Rolld20 says:

    Thanks for the fill-in!
    Waiting for Friday…

  20. David V.S. says:

Heh. Now we have non-canonical DM of the Rings material, to argue about when comparing it to the canonical images.

  21. Roxysteve says:

    No free comic? Intolerable!

**** this for a game of soldiers. I’m off to GITP.

    Farewell, cruel webcomic creator!

    Steve.

  22. Deoxy says:

Truly, screen-capture or full motion video is among the most abusable of all media. ANYONE who EVER appears in any significant amount of film can be portrayed badly (and often are – especially if they are in politics, and MOST especially if they aren’t “approved” by the “proper” portions of the media… you know which party I’m talking about).

Not that this isn’t amazingly funny, mind you. I bow to your superior screen-capture fu.

  23. Josh says:

    I just soiled meself.

  24. Phlux says:

Nearing the end? The way I see it, you’ve got 4 characters that have left the game who might want to come back after these guys finish the campaign. Since you’ve reintroduced merry and pippin as NPCs, you can still have the Sam and Frodo players come back and pick up their characters where they left off.

Gollum could either be the most annoying NPC ever, or he could be thrust upon some poor unsuspecting PC who is constantly anguished at having no weapons or equipment and no combat…thus all of gollums skulking and attempted PKing.

Could be funny, and there’s at least another 50 strips in there, screencap wise.

  25. bruce says:

    No Comic?

    Right, that’s it.

    Run away, run away!!!

  26. Mordaedil says:

    I am appeased.

  27. Retlor says:

Hey, as long as you still view DMotR as a fun project and not an obligation everything should be fine. If it starts to be a thing that you have to put out on a certain day it will become too much like work.

  28. Salen says:

So much for that “no Monty Python” rule for the gamers. Hah. Awesome. Thanks for the one panel funny. It does help with the lack of new DMotR yesterday.

  29. haashaastaak says:

    Flee the Lagomorph Haregorn!!!!!

  30. Sarah says:

Josh, go and change your armor! :)

  31. Scarlet Knight says:

    Great face!

“Oh, my, Aragorn! What big teeth you have!”
“The better to eat your minstrils with, my dear!”

  32. Obfuscato says:

    . . . and no conditioner, either!!”

  33. Chris says:

Call me crazy, but this is my favorite DMotR so far!

  34. TheDeepDark says:

Um, Toil3T: This is maybe just me, but I think you’re a little confused…

36! The AC of that last dragon I chose not to fight! (Hey, I’m fifth level for cryin’ in the mud!)

  35. David says:

Funniest one yet. Now will he take that as a compliment or an insult?

  36. Cynder says:

All hail Monty Python! Perfect shot! :D

  37. Blondie says:

Hey, I posted while we weren’t even at 50 yet. I supposed that has to do with the lack of a full-blown multi-paneled comic.

On the flip side, although it was not an actual comic, it was still brilliant! That is an amazing screen cap and a face of Aragorn I have never seen. Bloody brilliant work lad.

  38. Rann says:

Is Viggo related to Jack Black…?

  39. Aragorn says:

LOL OMG ARAGORN HAS BUNNY TEETH! GET THE BUNNY!!

  40. Aragorn says:

ah Hes too strong!!!!! RUNAWAY!!!!!!! uh oh…. im aragorn!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

  41. Candyman says:

    What an excentric performance.

  42. WeLikeShadowrun says:

My Current DM has made our world more in the Roman styles to avoid holy grail references. Unfortunately I know most of the Life of Brian as well. The first time I quoted (we were trying to unite to rival bands of freedom fighters against the Judean People’s front. I mean the Korsans) most people collapsed laughing at the fact that I’d found a loophole but that got shutdown too quickly.

  43. WeaselButter says:

“E’ll do *YOU* a treat, mate!”

I still think you shoulda came out with a ‘DM of The Holy Grail”….

  44. Brendan says:

I’m a year (or three) late on this, but you are (were) fulfilling your prediction of this webcomic becoming a gallery of Viggo Mortensen making funny faces and Monty python references. In the same strip no less!

  45. Serenitybane says:

He looks like a bunny ^.^

  46. mapl3 says:

i do belive hes saying fight at the moment but looks for all the world hes gonna drop the f bomb

  47. Forgotten Honor says:

    No Monty Python!!! LOL

  48. Zeph says:

I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. Fff-f-f-f-f-f-f-f!
