  1. Yes, I renamed yesterday’s comic. I’d already used “Misunderstandings Abound” about 85 strips ago.
  2. Someone requested this. I don’t know why:

Do I LOOK like I’m kidding?

    Easily done.

  3. I’m still reading all comments, even if ‘m not participating. Thanks so much for all the nice things everyone has had to say.
  4. I have many entries half-written, but nothing ready to post. I actually expected this to be a post-heavy week, but I’ve been sidetracked which is why the site has been barren for the last few days. (Aside from the comics.) My distraction is due to reasons too mundane to even bring up. It’s nothing you haven’t read a hundred times before on other blogs. Try to imagine I’m doing something really exciting and dangerous instead of posting. For example:

Posting will be light this week because Vin Diesel and I are going to skydive onto a mountain and ride down on our snowboards while playing though The Ghost Tower of Inverness!!!

This way, the dead space on the blog will be that much more interesting than some lame post about mundane distractions.

Well real life, the bane of the gamer class.

We all get high hopes for things at time only to have the reality of life smack us in the head and say, “You no play today, you take care of mind numbingly boring stuff that is only there to keep you from gaming!”

Then there are kids, work, pets, other family and owning a house (most people don’t realize how much time a house can take up).

  2. Shandrunn says:

Well, Vin Diesel *is* a gamer. They got him to write the foreword to the D&D 30th anniversary book.

  3. Mike says:

So playing chess, in other words. :-)

I’m with you. I miss the simplicity of the AD&D 1e, even though I haven’t played in two decades.

  4. Knastymike says:

Be sure to shout “WOOOOOOOO!” : )

  5. Eltanin says:

L33t skilz dude! How many dice do you have to bring as you roll/role/glide down the hill?

I just knew that Shamus was some sort of geek superhero. That guy is so Glam…

  6. Telas says:

    Save vs. Real Life

    **roll, rattle-rattle…**

    Crap. A natural 1….

  7. Coyote says:

I’m just really impressed that there’s a Wikipedia entry on the Ghost Tower of Inverness.

Played that one not long ago, with a fan-made update to 3rd edition…

I saw the request for the frame. I mentioned that I was going to put it up in my cube–which I did. I just copied the whole pic and cropped it to get the frame I wanted.

I assumed the request was for you to blow it up for use as a wallpaper. The trouble is, of course, if you take the time to do that, others (like me) will be asking for other frames blown up:

    Aragorn’s “Big Nasty Pointy Teeth”
Hama’s “I can’t let you in while we or anyone else is armed”

I’m sure there would be other requests for individual frames in the strips.

Not that I’m trying to dissuade you, of course…

Can’t wait to see the pix of you and Vin.

  9. DocTwisted says:

So are you gonna shave your head before the dive? Because y’know, Vin’s shaved head gives him some extra aerodynamics in that descent…

  10. Thad says:

Just throwing in a small nitpick: “ago ago”?

  11. Dave says:

Shamus.. this is where you reply with.. “No.. really.”

  12. Chris Curran, Crazy Chainmailler says:

i actually did blow up the Hama's “I can't let you in while we or anyone else is armed” scene. and put a nice thick black border on it. so now it’s buried under hundreds of icons. btw, first time poster, long time reader, great epic of D&D proportions! :D

  13. Myxx says:

I can’t wait to see pictures of your adventure! That outta be a Photoshop-intensive weekend, but I’m sure you can pull it off. :)

  14. Bogan the Mighty says:

So will you be a leaf on the wind?
