Later today we’ll be streaming PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. Why? Only Josh knows. We’ll be streaming on Twitch when the time comes. I hope you can make it and explain to me what this game is and why Josh wants me to watch it.

Edit: Thanks everyone for tuning in. We streamed almost two hours each of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS and Nier Automata. The VODs will go up on youtube at some point, but until then, you can find them in the Twitch Archives.

Hoo boy. Quick drinking game ideas?

    Let’s try with

    – 1 shot whenever Josh says “stop shooting me”
    – 2 shots if Josh ever dies because he’s remained out of bounds of the play area
    – 1 shot if he kills two people in a row
    – 2 shots if he gets killed while driving

replace shots with small beers if you prefer

  2. Josh says:

YES. THIS IS THE NEW YEAR STREAM. IN APRIL.

    1. Josh says:

ALSO IN PITTSBURGH BECAUSE I HATE MYSELF.

Say “Hi” to Ashur for us.

  3. Echo Tango says:

Noooooo! I’ll still be at work when the stream starts. You better be playing for more than an hour, sonny! :P

    @Shamus

This game is basically loot-gathering like in Metro*, plus fight to the death, plus big sandbox-ish island to roam around on. The play area gets smaller over time, to force players into conflict (as opposed to hiding on opposite ends of the map), and ensure that only one person survives.

    * Actually, the island you play on has lots of Ukrainian graffiti, so the language of choice is another thing in common with that game. (Or was that game Russian…?)

    1. lucky7 says:

Metro was (I believe) set in Russia, based on a Russian novel, but developed by Ukrainians.

  5. Christopher says:

I watched the Quick Look of this, and it looks absolutely ripe for shenanigans.

  6. The Rocketeer says:

Imagine my surprise when I popped into the stream at the very end, and found them playing what I had just that morning recognized as perhaps my favorite game of all time.

  7. Christopher says:

This stream makes a good case for a super short Twenty Minutes With of Shamus and Chris playing a little indie gem, don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but it’s called Undertale.

  8. Phantos says:

I would have watched if I had known there would be Nier Automata instead of Thing I’ve Never Heard Of. :/

    1. Daemian Lucifer says:

Its better to watch thing-youve-never-heard-of however.Thats how I discovered the glory of saints row.

    2. Henson says:

I personally found Thing I’ve Never Heard Of much more fun to watch.

    3. Echo Tango says:

Get out of your comfort zone; Variety is the spice of life!

      1. Daemian Lucifer says:

And he who controls the spice, controls the universe.

  9. Daemian Lucifer says:

Its a good thing that not many people watched the stream.Even now,I am afraid for Chris’s safety.Cant imagine what wouldve happened if more people were there.

  10. tengokujin says:

I’m guessing that everything before the recent PlayerUnknown stream was pulled from Twitch because of the recent split?

And here I was, hoping to get a last gander at the Nier: Automata stream.

    1. Daemian Lucifer says:

No,twitch always purges everything except the most recent thing.Nier is saved on youtube, and should be there.
