Now Travis gets to take a shot at the Langdell issue, which I mentioned last week.

For those of you who will want to squint to see the game in detail, I have the fully view of Travis’ game box below:

    Brilliant!

Even if Langdell doesn’t take the settlement, we should still go punch him in the balls once a week.

  2. Jeremiah says:

Yeah, but pick a better day to do it on. Maybe Friday because it’s the end of the week and you’re excited for the weekend, so a punch in the balls would ruin that. Or Monday, because Mondays already suck and a punch in the balls would make it that much worse.

  3. Joshua McNeely says:

It would be better if the day was randomly picked. That way there would be times when it happened two days in a row and times when it didn’t happen for almost a week. That way he could never relax as he’ll never know if this person or that person is about to punch him… Mental pain on top of physical pain… now we’re getting somewhere!

  4. HeadHunter says:

Good idea, Joshua… then he’d always be on the…

    (wait for it)…

    EDGE. :D

  5. Talrogsmash says:

How long do you think he would have, hypothetically, lived if he had copyrighted the word “virgin” and sued the state of Virginia over its infringement of his copyright in, say, 1777?

  6. Julian says:

HeadHunter: you just made my day. Thanks!

I hope the trial gets on TV:
    “Edgy, are we?”
    “Wha?”
“There’s a fly or something on the edge of your desk. Right there! It’s edging towards you!”
    “What? Where?”
“Hit it with the edge of a knife! Ahhh it flew away! Now it’s standing on the edge of the window!”

  7. illiterate says:

    Shamus,

Will Travis’ game be using this edge detection algorithm?

  8. Davin Valkri says:

You think he’ll bite? I’d like to see him bite.

  9. Tacoma says:

I trademarked being a jackass several years ago. I assume this means Tim Langdell, Derek Smart, and Rush Limbaugh each owe me significant royalties.

  10. Adeon says:

You can’t trademark being a jackass (unfortunately) although you could patent your unique methods of jackassery :).

  11. macatombe says:

I would totally buy that game just for the box art.

  12. TWorlock says:

Actually there’s a point, what if rock band or guitar hero use a U2 song? Will he sue them?

  13. Angie says:

That was great! Some people just deserve to be soundly mocked, and Langdell is up toward the top of that list. Go get ‘im, Travis! :D

  14. SimeSublime says:

The obvious solution to the problem is not to fit ‘edged’ in to the title as it stands, but rather change the characters name to ‘Edged Edgerton’ and put him on the ‘edgy edge of edgyness’.

  15. Johan says:

    I really want that shirt.

  16. UtopiaV1 says:

    @Julian
Dude that was hilarious! You made me lol so hard, thank you for brightening my day :P

    @Tacoma
Ask any of my ex-girlfriends, they’ll say I owe you a ton of royalties…

  17. HeadHunter says:

    @ Talrogsmash #5:

He could never trademark “virgin”, especially as regards to gaming. Millions of gamers could claim prior use.

  18. Nillo says:

The guys on the TIGSource forums had a competition recently called “EDGE a competition for GAMES” where all the entries had Langdell’s likeness and the word Edge in them. Great stuff. :)
